Young Artist: Chuck Alston

Chuck Alston is a 17 year old Painter from the Bay Area. Alston mainly paints in oil, but more recently has been working with acrylics. He is inspired by social issues pertaining to change in US, racial injustices as well as ecological issues worldwide. Portraiture also plays a big part in influencing his work. Alston looks to Egon Schiele, Lucian Freud, and Gustav Klimt for inspiration.

My most creative element is probably in the collaborative setting as well as in an open space with music playing.” Alston says. Alston uses bold strokes of color to create the emotion he is conveying in each piece he paints. We can’t wait to see how his career develops and will be looking forward to see his work featured at gallery exhibits.
