Take a look at the work of design student, Christina Wu-Martin who is majoring in Illustration at the Art Center College in Pasadena. We’ve featured some of her first basic in-class drawings done at the school. Her class focus every week is to draw a new model and they would have to focus on drawing shadows, line-work and accurately displaying their features with graphite pencils.
Wu-Martin has been doing art since she’s been able to hold a pencil and has been pushed by her mom and sister to pursue it as a career. She is currently moving towards “Entertainment Illustration”, hoping to be in the animation industry. In the future, Wu-Martin sees herself creating character designs and concept art for movies and TV shows. On top of attending Art Center, Wu-Martin works at Pergolina in Toluca Lake – one of my most favorite stores. She finds that working at Pergolina has been a huge help because the store owner, Paulanna, has connected her with various artists who currently work in the industry. She has learned that this is a very hard field to be successful in and you can never stop working towards your goals! If you’re ambitious enough though, everything’s within reach. Keep the dream alive, Christina – we love your talent!
