(dis)Connected

We have become slaves to the internet and new technology. While my surrealism photography relies heavily on technology and I have nothing but respect for the advancements our society has taken with it, I decided to explore the darker side of it. With each work, I included a technological, physical, and natural element, to mesh with destruction and distraction. The series is of mixed media using Cinema 4d and photography.

The disconnected hands from the body in a slave-like position shows the power technology has over us. The natural elements in the back such as the plants and the physical element such as the bike, symbolizes how we have come to ignore things such as going outside and enjoying what we have around us. The color-neutral glass is in front of those natural objects to show how transparent we are to the reality that we are trapped and confined by our obsessions and addictions to technology.
