Recent Parsons graduate and Lower East Side cool girl, Sandy Liang, has quickly built for herself the start of an empire after having interned for Opening Ceremony, Phillip Lim, and Jason wu. Liang’s collections in the past highlighted a sense of her own personality, clearly inspired by the environment she lives and engages in. The most recent presentation of her SS16 collection focuses on wide range of moto style jackets, colored furs and frayed denim. Check out her website and past collections at www.sandyliang.info.
Fashion East’s emerging designer and recent Central Saint Martins graduate, Mimi Wade, took on the surprisingly refreshing subject “heroines in low-budget 50s horror films” in her first presentation at fashion week. Complete with the editorial, the collection really stood on it’s own completing her idea of “girls acting out”. Having only seen one collection, we look foreword to much more from this emerging designer.
